June 7 I am presently having a show of my rowing artwork at the Cooley Gallery in Old Lyme, CT. We had a very well attended opening last Saturday evening and show will run until July 2. So if you have an interest in rowing I'm sure you will enjoy the paintings. Included in the show are paintings from the Head of the Charles Regatta as well as paintings from Philadelphia and Princeton . There is a large painting of the Yale Heavyweights winning the

Friday, June 9th I will be painting in one of the gardens on the garden tour in Stonington, CT. This is a very well attended event which draws people from near and far who wish to enjoy the beautiful gardens in the delightful
borough of Stonington
I am also showing two stillife painting of flowers at the Charles Art Galley in downtown Gloucester, MA. This is a new gallery which a terrific space just across the street from the police station on Main St
On June 20-24 is the annual plein air event at Mystic Seaport. Hopefully the weather will cooperate and let us get some good work done outside
My painting ' A Spanking Breeze on a Starboard Tack' was chosen by the Fellows of the American Society of Marine Artists to grace the cover of the catalog to our 17th Annual Exhibition which has been a traveling exhibit for the last year. It is presently moving to the Minnesota Marine Art Museum in Winona, MN where it opens on June 26th remaining until September 15 when it comes to Mystic Seaport Museum on October 2nd until it's conclusion on January 20 , 2018.
I am also participating in an invitational show at the Channel Island Maritime Museum in Oxnard , CA with my painting 'Amorita off Fishers Island" May 8 to June 25
These past couple of months have been very busy for the artist and included a short getaway to Nantucket. We stayed at the Century House which is owned by our friends Jean E and Gerry . The Century House is without a doubt the best guest house on Nantucket and the owners are wonderful, too! While there David painted a few simple watercolors to demonstrate this medium to a new student.
His oil paintings can be seen at Cavalier Gallery which is right on Main Street in town.
This year was the 35th year for the Annual International Marine Art Exhibition at the Maritime Gallery at Mystic Seaport. This show can be viewed online or at the Maritime Gallery until December 31. David’s painting “Heading Home” was awarded the Maritime Gallery Yachting Award, which was described in this manner: “Celebrating the singular pleasures of going to sea, the judges recognize the work that best captures the beauty and excitement of the “sport of kings” in all it’s many forms”
In early October David was honored to have his painting chosen for a poster announcing the fund raising event to purchase Avery Farm and surrounding lands. These efforts are critical in the work of preserving open space so that folks can enjoy nature, and GOSA (Groton Open Space Association) has led the way in this effort
